I have always been inspired by building, design, and construction. Whether it is ancient building practices, sustainable construction, to learning about new innovative materials and practices. I love being on site, working closely with clients, and subcontractors. I am motivated by a good challenge, whether it is making a schedule work, streamlining a budget or improving a job site efficiency. Creating Aequo was my way of contributing to the legacy of great architects, designers, and builders of Minnesota. I relish the opportunity to work with other creative professionals and form a team that can makes dreams into reality.

I began my career framing single and multi-family homes in high school for a national framing company. I traveled extensively through-out the mid-west and relocated to Montana for a couple of years where I built multi-million-dollar log cabins in the Yellowstone Club. When the recession hit, I moved back to the twin cities and pursued a degree in Construction Management. At the same time, I launched my own Sub-Contractor framing company. My crew and I traveled around the Midwest framing apartment buildings for various clients. I eventually moved into light commercial construction working as a subcontractor Superintendent for other local General Contractors. I found myself wanting to do more, knowing I can give the client, the architect and the Sub-contractors better service and a higher quality product at a competitive price. That is when Aequo Builders was born.

I enjoy spending my free time with friends and family. My hobbies are mountain biking, marathon running, wood working, and collecting antique carpentry tools. A great day off is going for a run, looking through Dwell magazine with my wife Tess, an Interior Designer, and reading a book to my 1-year-old daughter Hazel.
